Sustainability needs to be at the heart of everything I do

December 11, 2024  By

Recently, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on my business processes and how I can personally be more sustainable as my circumstances have changed. So why share this?

Those of you who’ve had meetings with me recently will know I’ve been questioning some of my own habits—both in work and daily life—after some pretty big lifestyle changes!

🌿 What have I learnt about myself over the past few months? Sustainability needs to be at the heart of everything I do—personally and professionally—because it matters. It doesn’t mean everything has to be 100% sustainable all the time, but it does mean making sensible, intentional changes wherever I can.

As a vegan (and I’ll admit, this has been a mental challenge recently as I’m flying solo these days), I’ve always been passionate about reducing my impact on the planet. But I also realised that my business could—and should—reflect these values too.

That’s why I’ve shifted my focus to sustainable web design—because the internet, my work world, has a carbon footprint too.

💻 Did you know every website consumes energy, and some are far less efficient than they could be? By designing lean, optimised, and eco-friendly websites, I’m helping businesses reduce their digital impact while improving performance and customer experience.

For me, sustainable web design is a way to align my work with what I care about most: creating a better future for the planet.
