Is Your Website Slower Than It Should Be?

April is here already, 2025 is flying by.  With the scent of blossom in the air we are spring cleaning our houses, getting the garden summer ready but are you considering a little spring clean on your website to get it running at it’s best!

There are a few things that you could be doing that don’t take huge amounts of effort.

Did you know that large, unoptimised images are one of the biggest culprits behind slow-loading websites? A sluggish website not only frustrates visitors but also affects SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and increases energy use.

Here are three quick ways to optimise your images before uploading them:

Resize Before Uploading – If your site displays an image at 800px wide, don’t upload a 4000px file! Smaller images = faster site.

Choose the Right Format – Use JPEG for photosPNG for transparency, and WebP for a smaller, eco-friendly alternative if your website can upload them.

Compress for Speed – Tools like Smush can reduce file size without losing quality.
